The Task & Requirements

The task we received from Marti-Gesamtleistungen AG was simple "Give our site a fresh look". The driving force behind this initiative stemmed from the recent launch of the Marti-Gruppe website. Impressed by its dynamic layout and informative pages, Marti-Gesamtleistungen recognized the need to align their own online presence with the modern Marti-Look.

My Contribution

At the beginning of the project, my focus lay on analyzing the Marti-Gruppe website, as well as doing research on the design of their competitors. Besides focusing on the visual appearance, I also had the chance to challenge the architecture of the page and suggest future content.

After I finished my desk research, I started to design several routes of the look and feel based on the homepage. Thanks to the many internal and external feedbacks we narrowed down the design which we wanted to pursue.

Upon receiving approval from the client, I handed the designs over to Kaspar (Developer).Collaborating with him was an absolute delight—our handover process and subsequent reviews were straightforward and efficient.

The old page felt rigid and overly pragmatic. Therefore, our team aimed to introduce dynamic elements, bold fonts, an irregular layout, and a touch of playfulness.

Analyzing the Marti-Gruppe website was truly inspiring. What particularly caught my attention was the distinctly on-brand menu. Initially, I was tempted to replicate a similar solution. However, this was the very aspect Marti-Gesamtleistungen expressed dissatisfaction with regarding the Marti-Gruppe page. Hence, I proposed a more classical menu solution.

After completing the desk research, I began proposing several designs for the homepage. Each design was challenged within our team. Once we reached a consensus and selected our favorites, I proceeded to animate these pages, bringing them to life through small interactions.

While finalizing the whole page, I was very grateful to receive inspiring inputs from Samir (Consultant) and Kilian (Creative Director). Their contributions enabled me to elevate the design and give the entire website more character.

Look Back & Learnings

This project brought mea lot of joy, not only because of the positive outcome. Navigating between different parties and exchanging opinions with them was sometimes challenging but mostly inspiring. Although I didn't have new learnings, I experienced a few pleasant surprises. Working with Kaspar (Developer) for the first time was particularly rewarding. I was impressed by his precise work. Additionally, I truly appreciated the straightforward feedback from the client; they knew exactly what they wanted.

Marti-Gesamtleistung AG is a real estate developer and total contractor that brings vision and reality together to create inspiring living and working spaces for people, companies, and public institutions.
