Atrium Baar
a new look from A to Z

Atrium Baar offers a unique home to young people whose lives have been disrupted by illness or accident. The professional teams and the barrier-free environment empower residents to embrace an active lifestyle.

The Task & Requirements
Atrium-Baar was on the verge of launching their rebranding, complete with a new name, slogan, and refreshed visual identity. All of which had received approval from the administrative board. With the groundwork laid, the natural progression was to implement these changes onto a new website. Jessica (Consultant) led the rebranding project and asked me if I would like to join the team for the digital part. Prior to my involvement, she and had conducted user interviews and analyzed the existing micro-site, which was housed within the Pflegezentrum Baar website.

Based on the groundwork clear objectives were established:
1. Enhance the overall user experience, focusing on readability and navigation.
2. Implement the new branding.
My Contribution
As Jessica (Consultant) and I sat together, we discussed the scope of the project. It became apparent to both of us that a mere micro-site would be insufficient in the long run and wouldn't fully reflect the efforts put into the rebranding. Consequently, we embarked on crafting a proposal for an expanded website. Following the presentation of our suggestion, we not only received approval but also inspired the management of Atrium Baar to engage in a co-creative approach. Throughout our iterative process, we figured out the optimal structure of the website and its content.

After the groundwork was done, I delved into the design phase. My objective, as always, was to craft a library of standard components, providing Atrium Baar with the flexibility to rearrange or modify the structure of specific pages in the future. Once the components were finalized, I began piecing together the entire website while making notes on the necessary content — both text and visuals.

The next step was the presentation of the prototype and the final designs. We received positive feedback and constructive criticism, which I promptly incorporated into the design. Once these adjustments were made, I passed the design over to the developer at Pflegezentrum Baar. With the digital aspects completed, Jessica and I shifted our focus to content creation. She took charge of the textual content while I handled the visual assets, including videos and images.

Organizing and contributing to the photo shoot was highly rewarding, as I had a clear vision of the specific "sujets" required and where the pictures would be placed.

Live page
Since the client wasn't particularly tech-savvy, we needed to provide some explanations. Therefore, sitemaps and wireframes were invaluable during the project's initial stages.
To maintain modularity, I began crafting common components. My aim was to provide Atrium Baar publishers with sufficient flexibility, allowing them to easily adjust the page structure if needed.
A significant milestone was presenting the design proposal to the client, showcasing several distinct pages as examples.
The most rewarding and enjoyable part was the photo shoots with residents and employees of Atrium Baar. I met so many kind people. These encounters gave me even more energy and motivation to finalize the page.
Undoubtedly, the planning and two days of shooting were intense, and post-production also demanded its share of time. Nevertheless, I was extremely satisfied with the outcome of my work.
Look Back & Learnings
Two aspects of this project particularly excited me.

Firstly, collaborating with Jessica (Consultant) was as always a pleasure. Her exceptional organizational skills and diplomacy made every interaction a smooth and efficient experience. Her ability to plan ahead and communicate clearly ensured seamless project progress. This has been proven over and over during our collaborations.

Secondly, the opportunity to create something enduring for Atrium Baar was highly fulfilling. I deeply admire the client and their impactful work.
